Spencer Reese, Ph.D.

Dr. Spencer Reese earned a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Tennessee in 1999 and then attended the University of Memphis to earn a Masters in English in 2001. In 2005, he was selected to the Renaissance Research Team at Exeter University for a research project on the depiction of the fairy-tale witch-figure from George MacDonald to JK Rowling. In 2012 he earned an M.Litt. from St. Andrews School of Divinity. He earned a doctoral degree from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland in 2021. Spencer began his teaching career at Lausanne Collegiate School where spent eight years before returning to his alma mater, Memphis University School, where he taught for thirteen years of teaching. Currently, Spencer is the Head of the English Department at Seacrest Country Day School in Naples, Fl, where he and his family now live.
